Volume 4, Chapter 6

Debel spoke with a tone filled with strength.

“No, please calm your anger first. I have not mentioned investing in anything yet. And I truly intend to invest. Though our Debel Upper might have weaker financial capabilities compared to Gold War Upper, our credibility stands as strong as any Upper.”

“Hmm!”

Upon Debel’s words, Astro’s king realized he was becoming overly excited.

Come to think of it, wasn’t Debel Upper famous for having higher credibility than any other Upper? Just the rumor that no one had shed tears while trading with Debel Upper was sufficient.

He admitted his mistake and offered an apologetic greeting to Debel.

“I was too excited. I apologize, Debel.”

Debel responded with a smile.

“No need for apologies, Your Majesty. I understand your feelings given the circumstances. The reason I am here is for the benefit of both our Upper and the Carmine Kingdom. Please listen first and then make your judgment.”

“Very well, speak.”

Astro’s king nodded. There was nothing worse that could happen in the current situation.

Upon his approval, Debel pointed to the person standing beside him, El.

“The discussion about investment will be carried out by this person, not me. And although the Upper Shares belong to me, the actual owner of Debel Upper can be none other than this individual.”

“Wow… The actual owner of Debel Upper… That’s a new one.”

Astro’s king showed curiosity in response to Debel’s words. El had to be stronger than him for Debel to recommend him so highly.

Being a master swordsman and a hidden powerhouse, El’s true identity intrigued the king.

Aware of Astro’s king’s curiosity, El stepped forward and introduced himself.

“It’s an honor to meet you, Your Majesty. My name is Ellymis. I am the Tower Lord of the Golden Spire in the Tollian Kingdom.”

“Ellymis… Golden Spire…”

Astro’s king murmured his name and affiliation, his eyes widening.

And suddenly, he recognized El’s true identity.

“Oh…!”

How foolish not to have realized it until now! How could he not have recognized El’s identity?

The golden robe, the appearance of a person in their early twenties, and the incredible power at such a young age. These alone were enough to deduce the truth.

Astro’s king straightened his posture.

El, the Tower Lord of the Golden Spire! Despite his young age, his influence extended to the point where even a monarch like himself couldn’t escape it. And to top it off, he was here as an individual, challenging the entire empire!

El’s actions were admired by many who resented the empire, and he was revered by the youth for his courageous behavior. Astro’s king, who also held negative views about the empire, was deeply impressed by El’s actions.

He looked at El and spoke.

“Meeting the renowned Lord of the Golden Spire in the continent is truly delightful.”

El smiled. He sensed that Astro’s king held a favorable opinion of him.

With this, negotiations would become easier.

Looking at Astro’s king, El continued.

“As Debel mentioned, I have come to invest in the Carmine Kingdom.”

“Investment, you say.”

Astro’s king touched his chin, lost in thought.

Was the kingdom worth investing in?

It wasn’t vast in territory, nor did it have abundant farmland or a large population. Its only merit was its central location in the continent, but Debel Upper alone couldn’t handle the size of Carmine.

Astro’s king opened his mouth, struggling to figure out what El wanted to invest in.

“What are you trying to invest in? What do you want to do with our kingdom’s Gold Spire?”

El nodded.

“Indeed.”

Then El explained the facts that Debel Upper had investigated today.

“Initially, I decided to invest in the Carmine Kingdom. That’s why I was investigating various parts of the kingdom and came to meet Your Majesty. During this time, I heard some unusual rumors.”

Astro’s king inquired.

“Unusual rumors?”

El nodded.

“Yes. It’s the fact that the Carmine Kingdom owes a substantial debt to one of the top ten Uppers in the continent, Gold War Upper. Furthermore, it’s said that this debt has put you, Your Majesty, in a difficult situation.”

El’s eyes met Astro’s king’s gaze.

In response to El’s gaze, Astro’s king sighed and lowered his head.

“Ugh! It’s true. Our kingdom has fallen into the hands of Gold War Upper due to the debt. I was a fool. To think that I considered drawing money from the infamous Gold War Upper in the prime of my youth… Yes, I admit it all. Now that you have admitted everything, tell me everything. What do you want?”

El acted as if nothing was said.

“Didn’t I already say? I want to invest in the land. Of course, this is a matter that requires mutual trust to be realized. Please hear me out.”

Astro’s king, after looking at El for a moment, nodded.

“Understood. Speak.”
