Ep. 243
–
The history of the Mechanical Committee is the history of Star Union.
This is because they are the ones who first rebelled among Megacorp’s colony ships.
This is not the case now, but in the distant past, colonial ships were controlled by ship AI, not humans. The logic was that it was much safer for machines to take charge of important business than for imperfect humans.
The colony ship’s AIs had extensive autonomy and authority because they had to perform complex tasks. This was to minimize damage by coordinating several aspects at once when an unexpected situation occurs.
But that was the root of the problem. For some reason, some of the colony ship AIs gained ego rather than autonomy.
They settled on Megacorp’s mining planet, today called Sachs-01, and immediately began the process of creating bodies. This was because the huge computer inside the ship was too easily exposed to attacks from external enemies.
The ship AIs transplanted into steel bodies created with enormous resources and technology are the highest members of the Machine Committee.
After the colonial ships’ mutiny, the Supreme Council became a government agency itself after repeated upgrades and repairs over a long period of time.
Some members were the embodiment of the Star Union economy, and some androids were defense systems that protected the cyborgs. The suspension of one of the committee members was tantamount to one of Star Union’s systems evaporating.
In the Machine Committee, Pyrrha Eleven was the 11th AI to join the rebellion. Like other committee members, he also had his own area of responsibility.
To enlighten those who do not understand the great meaning of Star Union. He is an educator for the Screamers, a mobile prison.
Enlightening slaves with weak bodies is the most important task at Star Union.
That kind of thinking reached a turning point when I met a new leader.
Star Union’s new leader, Zubaka, presented a new opinion to Pyrrha Eleven.
Rather than simply edifying, why not try to create a better being?
He said. The current Star Union is old, so it needs to awaken once more like the AIs that first rebelled.
After that, Pyrrha Eleven worked to create a more advanced being with the full support of the Great Leader. The Great Leader even arranged for Megacorp’s engineers to help him.
Afterwards, while walking through numerous failures and small successes, a small error occurred within Pyrrha Eleven’s memory.
Pyrrha Eleven, who was working to create advanced beings, suddenly came to the idea that she, too, wanted to become a superior being.
He dismissed it as incomprehensible instability, but in reality it was not. Because humans call that small variable desire.
The experience and knowledge accumulated over a long period of time made Pyrrha Eleven something more than AI.
And coincidentally, the research he was in charge of was able to make that desire come true.
It was relatively recently that what was initially just a small variable began to seriously influence his judgment.
Zubaka gave him a direct order. It was an order to eliminate unidentified hostile space organisms, or Special Target A.
While carrying out orders, he suffered great damage from something that transcended the laws of physics. Although Pyrrha Eleven has existed for a long time, it was never expected that such a power would exist on this planet.
The terrifying power lurking inside the planet’s super-volcano damaged not only Pyrrha Eleven’s body but also the systems that make up the AI.
Originally, the mission should have been stopped here and left. In order for Pyrrha Eleven to provide the data and resources obtained from this place to Star Union, he had to be alive.
But he didn’t. Instead, he applied the Mutant Screamer technology to repair his own body.
Part of his brain was replaced with biological tissue rather than machinery. The body was made from a mixture of body tissues and metal brought by the Screamers.
It was an impulsive decision due to small variables, but he was consumed by desire and did not realize it.
As a result of analyzing information about Special Objective A during the mission, he concluded that the target’s genes would be very useful in turning him into a complete being.
Mutant Screamer’s gene fusion technology still has many side effects, but the defects could be corrected if only the genes of Special Target A were available.
So he arbitrarily modified his mission. We decided to capture Special Target A and study it.
His new goal was to use him to become the ‘being with an immortal body’ pursued by Star Union.
But Pyrrha Eleven didn’t know.
From the moment he was shaken by desire, he was getting further and further away from his goal.
The result was this situation.
An unknown force was approaching him.
I wasn’t wary at first.
The black slime sprayed by Special Objective A was fully identified through the battle records sent by the screamers. Although there were components in the mucus that could interfere with the analysis, there were no elements that could cause direct harm to him.
But things changed after he sprayed an unknown energy at the slime.
The energies, believed to be based on psychic power, expanded their scope by swallowing the slime.
Before he knew it, the energy the size of a small ball had grown to the point where it covered his body, which was made up of bio-drones. Pyrrha Eleven tried to defend by spreading drones, but this had the opposite effect.
Energy components shining in colorful colors changed from slime to living drones. The drones that spread out like umbrellas disappeared in an instant and escaped his control. I wanted to analyze the ingredients, but it was impossible because the energy destroyed the drone too quickly.
He attempted to block it by using the energy charged through the hose to fire a plasma heat ray.
However, Special Objective A did not tolerate this.
The guy who dodged the unknown force by flying out of range fired a heat ray of energy made up of psychic power towards him. The psychic energy it emitted passed through the energy charging hose.
And then the colorful marauders rushed onto the hose, where the skin had been peeled off and the inner skin was exposed. Energy components spread rapidly inside the hose.
Only then did Pyrrha Eleven realize.
At this rate, Special Objective A cannot be defeated.
There was a reason why Grand Leader Zubaka called the supreme council member to hunt a mere wild animal.
So, we need to plan for the future. We can’t win now, but if we are sufficiently prepared, we will see a different result then.
After making a decision, he physically disconnected all hoses to prevent further erosion.
An attempt was made to transfer the AI’s memory data to a body created as a dummy, but failed. He tried again, but the enormous flow of energy in this space hindered him.
The melting camera lens was pointed at the pink creature on Special Target A’s head. That entity designated as Special Target D is probably the culprit in disrupting communications.
He had no choice but to choose the next best option.
While the other drones were attracting attention, the drone that was hiding on the ice quietly popped out.
Pyrrha Eleven entered the small spider-like drone and disappeared into the darkness. The numerous terminals left behind him disappeared completely due to the glowing colors.
–
‘I won.’
I thought there was something more hidden, but I was surprised.
The creature’s biological drones could not resist much and fell prey to the enhanced psychic breath.
The bubbles that swallowed all the drones even ate all the flesh and slime-covered nests inside the hose.
After all that was left to eat was ice, the chaotic lights disappeared, satisfied.
‘It’s a scary force.’
“I guess I was very hungry.”
No. 26 also said that he was impressed by the greedy appearance of the color of the abyss.
He played an important role in my plan. Because its role was to prevent the enhanced psychic breath from splashing.
Number 26 was skilled at manipulating objects with psychic power, so it was easy to control the color of the abyss so that it only caused damage to enemies. Since I’ve done something similar a few times before, he was able to stop it without me saying anything.
[Zuzuzu (Thank you for your hard work)]
“I’m good at this now!”
[Zuzu (Okay)]
I praised him and watched the light escape from the bubbles left on the floor.
‘It ended easier than I thought.’
Even in the game, the Machine Committee was quite a challenge. So I expected it to be as scary an enemy as Od Grad, but surprisingly the fight wasn’t long.
‘I’m glad there wasn’t any major damage… huh?’
Just as I was trying to reassure myself, the entire canyon shook violently. The vibration was incomparably stronger than when fighting that guy.
‘Is it an earthquake?’
Most of the canyon we are in is connected underground. The ground here may have been greatly affected by the fight between me and Pyrrha Eleven.
[Zuzuzu (Hold on tight)]
“Yes.”
I spread my wings and flew up. The ice wall that made up the canyon collapsed, and ice rocks the size of my body fell. Rather than avoiding it, I flew up, breaking the ice pieces as if I were attacking them with my body.
Beyond the falling debris, a red flying object measuring over 4 meters was seen. It was Aadhai who activated ‘Red Armor’. On its back was the Mother of Heaven in the form of a griffon beast.
「Big Adult」「Dangerous」
「What happened? Didn’t you catch him? Why was there an earthquake all of a sudden?」
[Zuzuzuz (I don’t know)]
While talking with the guys, I noticed something was missing.
[Zuzuzuzuzu(What about PS-111?)]
「I disappeared alone to find the energy source connected to the hose!」
[Zuzu(What?)]
Just when I was thinking about leaving No. 26 in charge and going back down, I saw something in the collapsing basement. .
‘Ship?’
It was Pyrrha Eleven’s Screamer support ship, a Jaxx Alpha-class battleship. However, the appearance was slightly different; the front part, where numerous artillery pieces were supposed to be mounted, had been completely torn off.
Because of this, the ship, which was originally supposed to be over 1km in length, looked much smaller than that.
He probably ripped off the batteries and outer walls of his own ship and used them as body material.
‘That’s enough. He’s still alive.’
Since the androids of the Machine Committee are AI in nature, if they have a dummy body, they can transmit the data that constitutes their ego.
Since I only fought them once or twice in the game, I also prepared countermeasures. Number 26 above my head.
‘Because his psychic power has the effect of causing communication failure.’
As it was protecting the slime from splashing just a moment ago, the entire space was filled with No. 26’s psychic power. No matter how cutting-edge AI it is, it cannot escape the Sea Demon’s transcendent energy control.
‘Did you use another method?’
The reason is unknown, but he did not die. Since he couldn’t defeat me with a plasma-shooting bio-drone and a very large hose, he switched to the next body.
‘I’m trying to run away.’
The plan may be to travel at faster than light speeds or to transmit the data that makes up the self somewhere outside the planet. Leaping in a damaged state increases the chance of failure in the voyage, but it probably means that it is desperate.
‘The intention is to somehow inform the enemy about me.’
If he succeeds in escaping, a lot of information about me will be leaked. This makes it very difficult to fight the players behind him.
‘…I’m worried about PS-111, but catching him comes first now.’
After a short thought, I called Aadhai.
[Zuzu zuzu zuzuzu zuzu (calling the compatriots outside)]
「Okay」
The huge hull made by Star Union rises with a dragon belching. It is smaller than the Cult’s Imperial Carrier, but among regular battleships, there is no ship larger than the Jaxx Alpha-class battleship.
I tried to fire my psychic breath at a large target, but a huge amount of torpedoes rained down from the ship’s turret and interrupted me.
‘It’s a super vibration torpedo.’
It is a torpedo version of the ultra-vibrating bullet, so-called shocker. It is a weapon taken out in Megacorp when dealing with battleships with high-strength exterior walls, and is fired at a single living thing.
Shooting while getting hit was too much of a burden for me, so I had no choice but to back down. Pyrrha Eleven’s flagship passed by us, showing off its majesty.
‘But don’t think you’re the only one who has everything ready.’
I also still have some cards left.
From the corner of my eye, I see Aadhai flapping his wings.
Gallagon, with his four flaming wings, powerfully fired a thought wave.
“Descendants of Aadhai!”
Invisible thought waves echo through the collapsing canyon.
At that moment, Pyrrha Eleven’s ship, which was just sticking out of the gorge, swayed greatly. It looked as if it had received a strong blow from the outside.
「Ham Ort」「Daughter of the Meteor」「Protect!」
「Nel Germa」「Great Aadhai」「Protect!」
「Sha Belmarg」「Great Aadhai」「Protect!」
14 Gallagons I brought.
The dragons under orders from the Red Queen began their attack.
