EP.63
Miskatonic University was a large site made up of several buildings located an hour’s drive from Abraham’s mansion.
The sight of students walking down the street with books at each side was a common sight at the academy. However, if there is one part that stands out. It was a noisy missionary activity carried out by men wearing white hoods.
“Everyone, the end of days is not far away! Take refuge for a meaningful end!”
“We are complete only in the embrace of God! Rather than become dust in the universe, let us become part of Him and be born anew!”
Niore blinked once and filled out the information.
[They are all young people. It’s like students. I’m completely obsessed with religion. I will go to any lengths for religion.]
“It seems that way to me as well. Apocalypticists are popular wherever they go.”
“…Not all students are like that. Recently, the number of young people starting to harbor strange beliefs has increased, but most of them are good-natured, healthy children with a high intellectual desire.”
Despite Abraham’s defense, the fact that no one was stopping those who were preaching so loudly and that there were quite a few students watching attentively… hinted at the future of the university.
They will spread quickly like mold on bread.
Abraham parked his car in the professor’s parking lot and led you to the university building. The building where astronomy was taught was shabby even among university buildings.
The three decided to wait for Abraham while listening to the lecture.
As time passed, students formed groups of twos and threes and filled the classroom. Some of them wore white hoods. Abraham began his lecture on time. How to observe stars, their movements, mathematical meaning, etc.
It was the perspective of a scientist. Abraham did not add any religious meaning to the star. I just did my best to tell you what the world is like. The lectures were passionate and contained vocabulary that was easy for students to understand.
However, half of the students were bored, and those wearing white hoods talked to each other as if class was an afterthought.
“this…!”
“Hold on.”
Bennett spent his time trying to stop Tara, who was trying to run away like an unbridled colt. After class ended, the students left. Abraham smiled shyly and said.
“It seems my lecture wasn’t interesting.”
“No, Abraham. It was really fun! Really. Especially the complete exclusion of the theological perspective…”
Bennett blurted out in response to Tara praising Abraham, saying that she liked various aspects of it.
“Is that right what the saint would say…?”
“Be loud, Bennett!”

Miskatonic University’s library was like a labyrinth. The bookshelves were arranged so disorderly that first-time visitors could feel lost.
In fact, I saw a few students wandering around the library as if they were in a trance. Bennett tried to remember the route by memorizing the characteristic structures.
Did someone intentionally design it like this, or is it a labyrinth of laziness that was created naturally because no one thought to organize it?
Tara quietly asked Niore with a worried look.
“…Did you memorize the way out of Niore?”
[Yes!]
“Phew….”
Bennett patted Tara and passed by.
“Think about memorizing it yourself.”
“It’s a division of roles, a division of roles!”
“If you are going to talk about the division of roles, clean first. Be on cleaning duty.”
“Mr. Lee…!”
While Bennett and Tara were bickering, Niore quietly filled out the whiteboard. Since you will be showing it to an elderly person, the font should be larger than usual. And then he lifted it up and showed it to Abraham.
[Do you know about the object called the luminous scalene polyhedron?]
“…This is the first time I’ve heard of it. Is it by any chance an object related to the occult?”
[Maybe.]
“I heard that subversive books such as occult magic conspiracy theories are managed separately in the forbidden library so that students cannot access them. Perhaps you too…”
Niore quickly sold Bennett out.
[As you know, Bennett is very interested. No need to worry! Bennett is having fun, and if he goes down the wrong path, me and Tara will catch him!]
“Yes, we will take responsibility and stop it, Abraham!”
“I see… Then I will open the door to the Forbidden Library. It just so happens that I am the manager there.”
Just do it. Abraham added a condition.
“But only under supervision. I trust you, but work ethics must be maintained before trust. Is that okay?”
“Of course, Abraham.”
Abraham nodded and took out a silver key from his pocket. He made his way through the complex maze of the library, past the bookshelves containing books on astronomy, and arrived in front of a shabby door.
Sigh.
The old hinges screamed, revealing what was inside.
Unlike the library, it was a neatly organized room. The bookshelves lined up in a row were filled with books, and there was a large safe in a corner of the room. It looked solid and had a sturdy appearance.
Bennett asked.
“What is that safe?”
“It’s a personal safe. Since I manage the forbidden library… I also keep important items here. You know what’s inside.”
“…research materials?”
“That’s correct. I’ve put a copy of the research material in the safe. Feel free to look through the book. But don’t get too carried away with the occult. That’s giving up reason.”
“Yes. I will be careful.”
Bennett nodded with a hesitant expression. How did I end up looking at Abraham like this? If you think about it, isn’t it because Tara cut off first that it ended up like this?
“…What you looking at?”
“…….”
Let’s wait and see. Bennett swallowed his anger.
You have examined the books in the forbidden library. The amount of research was so vast that it was impossible to review everything in one day, so the research was almost entirely left to chance. As the saying goes, it was a collection of subversive books, and it was full of all kinds of bizarre and strange books.
It’s a book containing a recipe for making a pie with sardines.
A paper that seems to argue for the similarities between humans and dogs.
A magazine that collects bizarre rumors, such as discovering a human with a fish head on a certain coast.
And high-quality adult novels.
“…!”
“Did you find something Tara?”
“Nothing! I didn’t find anything! Absolutely not!”
“The reaction is strange. Watching alone doesn’t mean you can hog the credit. This is a situation where you need some clues, so if there’s anything suspicious, bring it in.”
“No, hey! Let go…! Your strength is so strong…!”
Bennett took the book from Tara’s hand and looked through a few pages. He added as he handed it back to Tara, whose face was bright red.
“You should watch this on your own.”
“You stole it from me-!! And you didn’t see it?!”
Second round occurs.
When Bennett was winning and verbally beating Tara down, Abraham cleared his throat a few times. The investigation was declared closed.
“Shouldn’t that be enough for today? The Forbidden Library will be open tomorrow as well. I have to go home and prepare dinner.”
[Yes Abraham.]
“Yes yes! I like it!”
Tara smiled and agreed. Bennett clicked his tongue in disappointment when he saw Tara escape the noose. It was enough time to beat for 20 minutes.
Then suddenly I felt it.
…I guess we’ve become closer than I thought. It seemed like at some point I was able to talk casually. To Tara and Niore.
What do they like and what do they dislike? How you act and what you think. Now I can get a general idea. It was a lot of fun talking about it. Sometimes… I put my sister out of my mind, even if just for a moment.
My feelings were complicated.
Staying under the same roof, having meals together in the same place, seeing each other every time we wake up… made us bond very quickly.
Maybe, like Tara, he was hungry for affection.
Still… I had time to put my mind in order. I decided to bury it for now. It was still okay. Not yet.
Looking at Tara walking with her arms around Abraham and Niore looking at her while holding the whiteboard and tilting her head as if asking if she was following him. Bennett ran after them.

#5: Fanatic / Missing Person
This happened while I was traveling in Abraham’s car.
“……!!”
Niore, who was looking at the road flowing outside the window, suddenly stood up and hit his head on the ceiling of the car. I was flapping my hands busily. My attention was focused.
“What’s going on?”
“What’s wrong Niore?”
“……!!”
She pointed out the window as she passed by, as if she didn’t even have time to write on the whiteboard. However, realizing that the situation had already passed, Niore busily wrote.
[I was being kidnapped. A woman speaks to people wearing white hoods.]
“…What happened behind that? Did something happen?”
Abraham, who was driving while facing forward, looked into the rearview mirror and asked. Tara and Bennett spoke almost simultaneously.
“Abraham stop the car!”
“No, you don’t have to stop.”
“Bennett, you again…!”
“If you’re saying you’re going to save me, then stop. I’ve talked about it for a long time, but…”
He shouted.
Niore climbed on top of Bennett and squeezed his shoulders with both hands. Bennett, who had tensed up his body as if she was going to fight, relaxed when he saw her expression. I could tell what Niore was saying without having to say it or write it down.
Just give me one chance.
Bennett hesitated, then sighed. I thought it might be too fitting. He gently pushed Niore’s body away and spoke to Abraham.
“Something came up, Abraham. I’ll be back before dinner, so could you stop me for a moment?”
“…Is this dangerous?”
“no.”
“…Please come back safely. I have something I want to tell you.”
Abraham’s car stopped. Niore got off first and ran back down the road. Bennett and Tara ran side by side, following behind.
The old man looked at the scene quietly and then drove home.
It wasn’t that I wasn’t worried. I was also curious about what was going on. But even Abraham knew how careful Bennett was.
Since he confidently said, ‘It’s not dangerous,’ he must have had his own calculations. Abraham trusted Bennett, who, except for his belief in the occult, was a sound and capable young man.
A word from the author (author review)
Everyone, I think it was a good decision to postpone the serial time to 2 o’clock.
If I hadn’t put it off… an apology notice for being late would have been posted today as always!
It’s cold. It’s snowing too. Be careful not to slip and see you tomorrow, my friends!
