Soon, many people dressed in traditional clothing showed up in Mateo’s peripheral vision.

A woman in royal clothing, accompanied by a casual looking young man, was standing in the middle of the crowd.

The woman’s face was exquisite. She looked like a mixed race; her nose bridge was quite tall, and her eyes were as beautiful as a painting. Her face mask gave her a mysterious yet enchanting appearance.

She was none other than the fourth successor of The Empire’s royalty, the fourth princess.

The person behind her was a handsome man who was around five foot nine, with a face as sharp as a blade.

He looked incredibly charming, but a heinous feeling could be felt all over him. The sensation pushed the people around him on the verge of kneeling.

He was the baron of The Empire, the deputy commander of the Knights Templar , and the God of War: Jason Leo!

Jason glanced at his surroundings calmly before pulling out a thin and long cigar and lighting it up casually.

Mateo strutted forward like a loyal gopher. He bowed respectfully, his hands set neatly by his sides.

“Princess, Young Master Leo.”

“You really disappoint me, Mateo.”

The fourth princess didn’t say a word when Jason blew a puff of smoke right at Mateo’s face.

Jason then reached out to tap Mateo’s face.

“You took so many of my men here for two whole days, yet you can’t even do one thing right,” Jason continued.

“You couldn’t get the Hamilton family’s casino license…”

“And that bitch Queenie didn’t submit to me.”

“I heard the actress did all those things for you, but you still didn’t get what you wanted.”

“Tell me. How am I supposed to punish you?”

Mateo’s expression changed slightly before he slammed his knees to the ground.

“I was incompetent , Commander. Please, punish me as you will.”

Jason showed no emotion even as Mateo knelt in front of him. He didn’t give an answer, either.

“Leo, I heard that Mateo’s doing all he can in Hong Kong and Las Vegas.”

The fourth princess suddenly spoke after a long period of silence. She was extremely fluent in their language. It was obvious that she had been trained professionally.

“After all, he’s been with you for so many years. He’s been fighting for you the entire time.”

“There are rumors saying Mateo has other motives and is trying to rise to power…”

“But I think the rumors are only spread to create a divide between both of you.”

“Even if he has accomplished nothing, he still worked really hard for you. It’d be better if you don’t punish him.”

“Okay, Jason?’ Cold sweat drenched Mateo’s back after hearing the fourth princess’s words.

He was on the verge of collapsing when he heard that someone had seen through the secret deep hidden within the recesses of his heart.

But since he was quite the character, he was able to endure Jason’s cold stare.

“Young Master Leo, this was all my fault!”

“I was incompetent! Punish me as you will. I have no complaints whatsoever!”

“Thank you for pleading for me, Fourth Princess. But since ancient times, a servant must die if their master wills it!”

“My strength, status, influence, and everything else have been blessed to me by Young Master Leo! He controls my life and death!”

“That’s why I’ll accept any punishment!”

Seeing Mateo’s show of respect, Jason’s eyes flashed with pleasure.

“Stand. How could I punish you after you said all that?”
