Calvin froze, then took a few steps forward.

Emory frowned; she bowed without saying a word.

Calvin felt awkward; there were some things he didn’t have time to explain.

Emory made a face.

Adler froze. Osman showed an odd expression as well.

They knew Quill had the leader’s badge. After all, Quill came all the way back to headquarters since the outer elder died because of it.
